So the people of Belfast are super friendly. Bizarrely everyone asks you what brings you to Belfast. We stayed at the Europa hotel. It’s been a long time since I was there last (used to spends weeks at a time there during my HP days while we calibrated test equipment at Nortel). It hasn’t changed one bit. Still a classy hotel with the most comfortable beds I’ve ever experienced. They are made by a company called King Koil. I’m going to try to get myself one of their beds as it was seriously comfy.
Weather was a bit hit and miss but nothing as bad as forecast. We didn’t do much on the food side. Just usual weekend crap. Lots of Burritos.
Culture wise we just went to see the Titanic museum and that was it. There were not many artefacts there so if that’s what you’re expecting don’t go. It was more about the history of the boat and the shipbuilding yard Harland & Wolfe.
I really enjoyed the weekend and would definitely go back again. A short flight and a fun weekend.
