No I’ve not succumbed to a crazy bout of vanity (although let’s be honest I do indeed love myself) but no this week I happened uponnthe most amazing elixir … a solo daytime trip to the spa. Honestly it was the best thing ever just sitting around reading, listening to music, and soaking my worries away. Taking a week off just to relax is actually quite a good thing I’ve discovered.

It’s a real condition don’t you know. Ever since the pandemic began travelling has become a bit of a nightmare and although life is slowly returning to normal air travel is still a bit of a shitshow. I log onto my BA app daily with a sense of dread fearing that it will show my flight has been cancelled. Yesterday I received an email whilst out walking the dog ….”Important news in relation to your upcoming flight” it announced. Well I almost had a heart attack, they were just trying to upsell some baggage checkin service. I honestly can’t wait for this particular side effect of covid to wear off.

So this time around I took a week off before my holiday to gently slide into it and it feels good sitting around doing SFA. I say that but in reality there has been a lot of shopping.

You know when you have that killer outfit but it’s missing one final touch. The cherry on the cake per se. Well I’ve got one of those for snowbombing. Red leather trousers ✅ Pink floral patterned wide collar shirt ✅ platform shoes ✅ baker boy cap in red patent leather ✅ but then it occurs to me that I’ll be in a ski resort in what still is Winter time. I need a coat gawd damn it. So I hit my old haunt on portabello road. Firstly the market was closed (it’s been a while since I was there) and the cost of everything has quadrupled (at least) since Nottinghill was released. But I found an amazing vintage store with the most fabulous sheepskin coats and my look is complete. I actually quite like the coat. Might even wear it as normal.

Three weeks to snowbombing and the excitement levels are palpable. Costumes planned and in the pocket. DJs selected. It’s gonna be a big one. This year we are looking at a no holds barred fancy dress fest. Every day is going to be a big one. Bring it on!!

So this week another large swathe of Western corporations have pulled out of Russia in retaliation for their invasion of Ukraine. One such company punishing everyday Russian folks by closing is Starbucks. I can’t help feeling though that it would have been a more appropriate punishment to keep those stores open.

When you’re getting out of bed at the time that you used to be coming home. It’s 4.30am and I’m about to get up to walk the dog. How times have changed 🤣

So I used to be a Noomy type but this year it’s all about New Me. Loving Freeletics as it drives me to the gym and doesn’t scare me away. I’m even spending more time in the grunty weights room without giving a shit. I am becoming …. THE BODY!!!! (cue dramatic music)

Yes this is what I am greeted with every morning. It is near impossible to not spend about twenty minutes cuddling this little sweetheart. Simply adorable.
