Breakfast update

I’m back in Dubai after quite the break. It’s hot hot hot here. Feels like you’re in a microwave oven once you walk out the door. The locals tell me I’m being dramatic, I think that they are just brainwashed into thinking it’s normal (or as some of them say, quite clement!!)
I flew Emirates this time and the service from start to finish was superb. They even picked me up from reading and collected me from the airport in Dubai to my hotel. Now that’s service. AND there was a bar on the plane. They call it the lounge.

it was quite the spot. Live TV too as they have starlink on all of their planes.
stayed at the Address hotel on Creek Harbour. The food is amazing and the bedroom very luxurious. Breakfast outdoors overlooking the creek across from downtown. Burj Kalifa in the background. What a life!

the breakfast here is legendary and pretty healthy. It’s all about stuffed figs, pulse based salads, fresh fruits, pastries (okay maybe not the healthiest) and cut meats. They do offer omelette but who travels to the Middle East and eats an omelette (apart from the British).

We walked about 160km don’t you know.
Grabbed some tickets for the show as we were staying at the Flamingo. What a show it was. Queens delivered although I have already forgotten who was in it. Kidding of course. There was Lady Camden, Drew Barry, Asia O Hara, Kori whatshisface and the last one nae escapes me. Anyway pics here –

Main reason for going to Vegas this time was to go to see the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere. And boy did it deliver. They had totally remade the film using AI so you could experience it from another dimension. No changes to the storyline though, and same characters played by the same actors (albeit AI recreated versions of them) but it was so convincing and immersive. During the hurricane scene the chairs in the sphere rattled and paper leaves spiralled around the entire auditorium. When it snowed on screen it snowed in the sphere. When they shook the tree apples rained down from above (and I caught one!!). It was a great experience but alas it has now ended its run. If it ever comes back I would highly recommend it.

Just got back from vegas. What a blast we had over there. Myself and Dave flew across last Friday week. The weather was off the charts, the pools were open and it was spring break for the colleges and universities. So all in all it was one major party. Weather started on low thirties and cranked up to 38 by the end of the week. I was a good boy and slapped on the factor 30 every day to avoid getting burned and for once it actually worked.

Just back from a week in the states. Work meeting and sales kickoff. What a blast. Met my new boss who was super nice. We also managed to fit in a four hour hike. Uphill was grey but the return ruined my legs. Trekking poles are a must for the older generation 😜

So I’ve subscribed to chatGPT and started playing around with the image creation (which is apparently much faster in the paid version). Anyway decided to do a mock up of me on top of Everest. It was quite a simple process. I just uploaded a pic of me in my hiking jacket and added the prompt put me on top of Mount Everest with this pic acting as a template. And here’s the result

Okay so it’s obviously AI generated. But not bad for 10seconds work. Anyway that’s not the point of this post. It’s what my friend Gillian did to take it even further that really adds the joy. Take a look at her glorious enhancements in chronological order 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Another month another trip. This time I flew to Dubai to meet with a large customer and then hopped across to Jordan. Wow. Amman is such a beautiful city. Steeped in history and an equal amount of energy. After customer and partner meetings we had a night out. Slow cooked lamb with rice, fried almonds, and yogurt cream… absolute classic.
