The southern stazi

Text

I’m not kidding the campsite owners are reminiscent of the SS. We are talking WW2 level interrogation…. The cutoff was 10.30pm for music. At 10.34, I KID YOU NOT, lady anti-climax had made her way from the other side of the campsite to our tent to request that we turn the music off. Un fucking believable. I get it that people want to sleep but seriously this is next level fuck offedness.

Some things never change…

Another weekend another campsite. Once again as I sit here in the glorious sunshine I am amazed at the ability of a seven year old girl to empty her lungs with the high pitched squeal of the most revered Banshee….

we are talking ear piercing shit. Olympic level screeching. I get it, she’s been locked down for two years and now she’s been released everyone is going to know about it.

Girls are weird!  The end

Can I get a whoop whoop!

It’s the end of two weeks with the other one away and I’ve managed to survive without burning the house down or smothering myself in a mountain of dirt. Life is good.

Tomorrow I’m off to the new forest camping. It’s going to be a weekend of eating and drinking. Can’t wait.

I’ve seen it all!

Davina MaCall wearing a blue one piece jump suit on a treadmill. What the actual <insert expletive here>!!!!!

What next? Boris Jonson in a pair of yellow budgie smugglers entering love island (actually the probability of that is pretty high).

I know we’ve all been a little stir cray cray with the lockdowns babes but seriously let’s bring back normality (which is not Davina MaCall on a treadmill in a £25 flammable all in one throw away fashion piece)….

The End

Grow baby grow

Weewaawoowaa the allotment is starting to flourish and I have actually managed to bring home my first produce for cooking. Okay it was rhubarb which is probably one of the easier things to grow but gawd damn it was tasty. The slugs have nibbles some of the pea shoots away and all of the lettuce is well gone. But…. The leeks, carrots, sweet corn, beans, and broccoli are thriving. The spinach is outgrowing the net tunnel. I’m a market gardener baby!!! 🤪

Back to reality

It’s almost 7am and the prospect of getting out of bed to walk the dog is not filling me with much enthusiasm. I’m definitely suffering from some post holiday blues, although not considering resigning from my job levels of depression 🤣🤣

as you can see I’m happy angry. Really need to learn how to use filters on those mobile pics … I look positively haggard.

Spent all day yesterday on the sofa after a short dog walk. Stopped by the allotment and it is covered in weeds again. It’s a thankless job removing those fuckers. One of the allotment people told me they never go away!!!!!! So I will be back there later on to remove yet more of those annoying fuckers. Good news is everything seems to be doing well with the exception of the cucumbers which have not really grown at all.

Camping Day 4 – The Welsh split personality

Okay so the day started a little damp and by the look/sound of things it was going to be a tent day. But as always Wales decided to go totally crag cray and spun it on it’s head. So we ended up having another stonker.

After the clouds cleared we headed down to the little beach we walked to on the first day.  This time we went by car and paid the £4 parking charge  Then hiked up to the Blue Lagoon (let’s be honest every country has at least one). Anyway there we witnessed some psychos jumping into said lagoon from thirty (that’s 30) meters. For the love of gawd have they no other way of breaking their spines? All thrilling stuff though.

That’s me looking super excited at the thought of seeing the Welsh brigade of the air ambulance. Unfortunately not on this occasion.

As ever the views were simply amazing  I cannot fault the Pembrokshire coast for delivering on the oooohhhhh aaahhhhhh moments

We did  lot of walking and met so many lovely people  As always Benson was the main topic of conversation as he’s such a rare breed . If I had a penny for every time I hear someone ask ‘Is he a schnauzer?’ 🤣

Anyway ended up here at the end of the walk  entrance marker to a port  oeeeee Hello Sailor 🤣🤣

We will head home tomorrow to avoid the rains as no one wants to be packing a wet tent. But what a great trip. I will certainly  return.
All in all another wonderful day.

Camping Day 4 – 7am update

I feel like I’m in an episode of Lost. One minute you’re listening to birdsong and the next the heavens have opened and you’re being flushed off rhe face of the planet. Not complaining as the tent is super comfy and totally waterproof. I do feel sorry for the couple I watched yesterday who had obviously had a tent malfunction. I think they bought one of those pump up pole-less tents and one of the struts punctured. Ended up strapping the working half to the side of their van. No Bueno!!!!

Luckily I managed to get my first shower of the trip in before the downpour began. Thanks gawd for waking up at 6am. Old habits die hard even when one is on vacation don’t you know.

Camping Day 3 – The sin bin

CC94C721-9883-4795-8899-F91061D1DBEA

It’s a late entry but worth a mention. Benson (pictured) has been put into the sin bin (in the form of being tied to a kettle bell) for chasing a woman in a wheelchair. She found him to be absolutely delightful but boy did he lead me a merry dance trying to get him away from said wheelchair and back into the tent. Freedom will be restored once he bas had time to reflect on his actions (and miss some dog visitors)….
