Do it with style… doggy style!!
September 2021
Could it be?

That red is my colour!!
Thank gawd for filters!

Yes it’s been filtered to within an inch of its life to the point where even Benson looks like a Crufts winner (in my mind he already is)… but hey when I look back at this image in 10yrs I’ll believe it was true.
King of The Republic of Bensonia

This is what real love looks like. The King sitting on my bed keeping watch in case he hears a sausage dropping into a frying pan 😀
If you can’t love yourself
How the hell you gonna love somebody else?
Wise words from the mother herself and so in that vein here’s a selfie just to test the low light performance of my iPhone 12 in preparation for the comparison shot from my iPhone 13 due next week.

AppleCare(s)
Well it’s official. When Lukasz asks he gets and this time it’s the Californian behemoth Apple who are listening. They’ve only gone and added a new feature to the newest iPhone especially for him. The Lock In The Look feature (TM) first coined in 2003 has finally made it to the fruit shops offering. Can’t wait to test it as I have mine pre-ordered already.

Roisin Machine Live
For Lukasz’s birthday I got some tickets to go and see Roisin Murphy at the Forum in Bath. We have never been there before but I have to say it’s not going to be our last visit. Loads of space, cheap parking, easy to drive to, and reasonable drinks prices.
She was amazing (Roisin). Think Kate Bush meets Grace Jones mixed in with a bit of Annie Lennox. Powerful singing and so many costume changes it was thoroughly enjoyable.

I definitely need to add a Roisin look to my wardrobe.
The final shout!
So way way way back at the start of the year while we were still in the deep doggy doo doo with no signs of light at the end of the tunnel and vaccinations were still a far away dream I decided to book a shed load of camping breaks for the Summer. We had that long weekend in Oxford where the tent poles snapped but luckily I had a second tent with me. Followed by the weekend in Gloucestershire with Kieran and Netu (so much fun). Then I spent 5 very sunny days in Wales walking the coast path with Benson closely followed by a long weekend in the new forest with Magda and Iza (who could forget that steak and chimichuri with chips campfire dinner!!!). Well the final camping trip of the year occurred last weekend with a trip to the Isle of Wight with my trusty road bike. I stayed at a campsite just outside Shanklin called Ninham Country Farm. I cannot recommend the place enough. Pristine site with the cleanest toilet and shower blocks I’ve ever seen. It even had a massive outdoor swimming pool. This time I went for an electric hookup pitch which meant I didn’t have to constantly switch on the car engine if I wanted to charge my electronics.
Did some amazing cycling over the weekend. I have to say the Isle of Wight is beautiful but Jesus Christ there are so many hills. It’s hill after hill after bloody hill. My legs were aching, especially after day 2 where I did 90km in 5hrs.
Tgere we’re some hairy moments and a lot of hill driven expletives but we got there in the end.

Of course there was a cold beer from the igloo ice box at the end of the ride. Can you imagine I cycled 90km without a single incident and I fell off the bike just as I arrived at the tent. Gravel paths and road bikes are not good friends.
To top it all off I got together with local islanders Katie, Ross and Billy for some beer and chips at the Ventnoor seafront. Always good to catch up with old friends.
Reunifun 2.0
Yes kids you heard it right. The hugely successful never to be repeated once in a lifetime reunion of reunions is back and it’s going to be better. Whilst myself and Gillian were making our way through bottle number four of the Malbec we hatched a cunning plan (okay to be honest there was no plan needed as everyone was as up for it as we were) and a date has been set for the next big Valley get together.

Don’t let the laser focus and looks of dogged determination fool you. We were three sheets to the wind here.
So there you have it. October 23rd at the Cock we will have another session. I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone again and this time I’m taking pics.
Build your own dreams!
I was surfing the web and came across a wonderful quote that really resonated with me.
“Build your own dreams or someone else will hire you to build theirs”
How great is that! Go for it and grab life by the kahonas or wobbly bits or have yours squeezed. It’s how I live my life (I’d like to think anyway). It’s been a crazy Summer with so much activity I haven’t even stopped to update spookydaffs with all the details. So this is going to be a bit of a long one.
August was a crazy busy month that culminated with Reading Festival. Three days of complete mayhem and a lot of amazing sets. Standout sets from Stormzy that I will never forget, Mabel was so good I thought she was American, Becky Hill ruled the stage and signed some 18 yr olds chest (that one will be turned into a titoo), Disclosure absolutely rocked the house with an amazing audio visual experience, and Buddy Fucking Clyro put the cherry on an already amazing cake. Myself and Leanne even made it to the very front of the stage for that one.

The fun we had the day we did.
almost immediately after the festival ended I flew back to Ireland for a week. So good to get back to the house in Kilkenny.
