Everything is A.O.K

So I went to Nirvana Spa yesterday evening. As I was leaving the house I realised that I’d left my mobile behind. Rather than turn the car round to come back for the phone I decided to go without it and enjoy a lovely digital detox. One minor problem…. I needed it for my Covid passport to get into the spa!!! D’oh!

Luckily they had lateral flow tests there to help out. So I avoided driving home to get the phone and got a nice rubber stamp about my covid status.

There’s always a relapse

If you’ve ever watched a Hollywood movie you’ll totall get the point when I say there’s never a happy ending without a minor relapse/blip just before the end. The protagonist runs away from the one they love to be caught at the airport just before boarding a flight. The crazed maniac emerges from a pile of rubble to take one last pop at Jon McCaine only to be taken out by the doughnut eating copper. Etc etc. The same applies to diets and post Christmas ‘loose the podge’ campaigns. I’ve had my blip in the form of a weeks worth of fast food and one large box of Scotts Clan. But now that’s over and I’m back on the horse. Started this week with a healthy food plan and I’m sticking to it. At this rate I’ll be at target by mid March. Only time will tell if I can stick to my commitments. Watch this space.

And it’s all over

After a fabulous seven weeks my time in Ireland for the Christmas break has finally come to an end.  It’s 3am and I’m getting ready to pack the car and make my way to the ferry. It’s been so lovely spending time here, helped on by one of the mildest December and January months on record. Benson snores away beside me on the bed oblivious to the journey ahead. He’ll sleep all the way in the car anyway (except for the start of the ferry where he will bark for about an hour until he realises no one is coming to release him)… oh to be a happy dog 🐕

Circle Of Friends

Well I never knew it but the Hollywood blockbuster movie with Minnie Diver was shot in Inistioge just down the road from my place. Small world eh. Myself and Gillian Took the dogs for a walk there last weekend. Great view of the town from the folly at the top of the woods in Woodstock.

Another year

Another beer. Jesus Christ how time flies by when you’re sat on your arse stuffing your face with crisps watching repeats of How I Met Your Mother. It really feels like a lot of time passed since last year to be honest. Why? Do I hear you say (well obvs not as the space/time continuum would never allow such absurdity)…. But I think it’s because I actually got up off the proverbial arse this year and did a lot of stuff.  There were loads of weekend camping trips. Trips over and back to ireland. Weekends with my favourite nieces. Festivals. The list is endless (okay it’s not endless, that was the end of the list) …

So resolutions for 2022. Mix it up, make a change, get out there more, don’t sit back waiting for the rest to follow. Take the lead and become the master of your own destiny!! (Wise words… you’re welcome!!)

and to start things off here’s a lovely pic of a man in a Mac on a bog…. Happy times 🙂

New year new me and all that 🤣

Talk about a food fest. I have put on 7kg over the past month. Okay so I’ve not been doing any exercise but regardless I need to get a handle on that or it will be back to the old days before I know it. Was considering Noom again  but I think that’s a step too far. For now I’ve downloaded an App called Calorie Counter from the App Store. It’s got some really cool features like a bar code scanner that works on UK products. Contains useful recipes, and it’s just £2.50 per month.

It’s important to remember

Hundreds, possibly thousands, of demonstrators were killed by Chinese troops in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square in the summer of 1989. The Chinese dictatorship might try to quash that information but we all saw it. They murdered their own people. Their own children!

Anagassin wins the crown!!

Arise Sir Anagassin. That’s what I’d say anyway for the effort they have all gone to this year with lighting up the entire village and providing what can only be described as the most full on Christmas crib ever. Not only is it illuminated and comes with its own cross-eyed Wise Man, but it also comes with backing track of people singing Christmas hymns. 10 out of 10 to the man with the electric crib. I thank you!!!
