It’s been a very long road. After months of living out of an ironing mountain I finally spent the weekend ironing and folding everything. My stress levels have abated and OCD is back in check. Thank gawd for Steam Presses.

I’ve been online shopping for so long now that it’s on a very rare occasion that I’ll go into a high street or shopping mall. Maybe with the exception of a trip to tkmaxx or homesense the odd time. And of course my beloved John Lewis but hey I’m digressing.
This weekend I was made acutely aware of the hidden benefits of online shopping that we’ve all probably forgotten. The right to return. Any online purchase can returned without any reason for a full refund. This luxury is not afforded to shoppers who walk in off the street. Obviously some stores will have their own policies but it’s not guaranteed which is the key point to keep in mind.
I bought a tv from curry’s this week. Thought I had picked up the same model as the one I had in the garage but I had picked the wrong box and it was not until I had unpacked it that I realised the mistake. I went with it and set it up but it was terrible. Poor picture quality, WiFi was very shonky and it kept dropping out. Eventually by Saturday decided to return it. Boy what a palava that was. They had to test it, question me multiple times about the issues, go back and test again, more questions. I felt like I was at the Spanish Inquisition. All for a simple rerun of a product that did not deliver to expectations and had serious WiFi issues. The whole experience kind of put me off ever purchasing from a store again.
Anyway happy ending I did manage to get the refund and purchased the correct model (from the store as I was there and I knew it was a good tv).
Honestly for the love of Jesus do these transport police have nothing better to do with their time than prosecuting people for wearing a freaking roller skate. They took some poor guy to court for rolling into a station and fined him £580. Surely arresting the platform announcers for being impossible to understand would be a more worthwhile use of their time.
Thought I had Covid yesterday. Had three larger whiskeys last night and today I’m full of beans. Irish medicine is the best ever. Anyway had a go at cleaning the downstairs. Not bad even if I say so myself.

Okay so I’ve tackled my nemesis and now I’m faced with the next challenge. The gawd forsaken folding mountain. No rest for the wicked!

For the past month I have been avoiding all ironing duties resulting in the largest ironing mountain in south Reading. To say I’ve been procrastinating to an industrial scale would bean understatement. Anyway today I shall tackle it or throw it all in the bin and go out to buy a new wardrobe.

So while I was on a break from the fabulous trailer trailer at Electric Picnic this year I ran into this guy and his friends took a photo. Today one of my friends shared it in our WhatsApp group as it turns out he’s a friend of her daughters. Totes hillare. Such a small world (which is why I left Ireland in the first place 🤣🤣)
They may be known for selling them but Amazon were more of a closed book with tight lips this week after a data centre issue in Virginia took the internet down. Even I was blocked from posting to my beloved blog (gasp). Between alphabet Amazon and Microsoft the whole internet is tied up. Most people don’t fully understand how catastrophic it would be if they were all to go down. banking, utilities, hospitals would all go offline and I wouldn’t be able to upload pics to my site. Total disaster basically.

I absolutely love what they’ve done with the place. Really opened it up!
