Last weekend I headed up to Anagassin to visit Tracy. A nice short drive from the house in Kilkenny to be fair. It took just over two hours to get there without breaking any laws. Anyway that’s not the main point. On Sunday morning we headed across to Carlingford to go for a week walk. Well what an epic adventure. We started off on the wrong foot by missing the entry point and walked for quite a distance on road but eventually got into the woods after which we enjoyed a spectacular walk with views to die for. Here’s just a few of them –

I honestly could add more because there were so many fantastic wow moments during the day. We even came across a crash site where a World War Two British army plane had come down in a storm with the loss of twelve airmen. I expected to see the plane but unfortunately not. There was however a very interesting description of events from one of the survivors.

I had never even heard of it and it was Irelands worst ever air disaster. Well every day is a school day as they say, okay they probably say every day’s a school day but who are you to teach me English. I’m rambling now just as I was on the day. It was an awesome hike and one I’ll definitely repeat soon. All in all we walked about 13km but my apple fitness shows we hit over 19km total for the day. Oh and we parked at Fitzpatricks pub. Mad place!!!
